My successes.

My search for Spanish vocabulary books tailored for toddlers proved to be underwhelming. The options were scarce, and the ones I stumbled upon were overly complex, filled with unrelated words, and predominantly authored by non-native speakers. Determined to find a better solution, I took a streamlined approach. I focused on creating short, themed books with fun illustrations that would captivate children's imaginations.

In my view, the true objective of teaching Spanish to our children lies not solely in achieving fluency but rather in encouraging them to practice the language, enjoy the learning process, and forge a connection with their cultural heritage.

What do you do?

Our business specializes in creating unique Spanish vocabulary books for children.

What sets us apart is our focus on simplicity and relevance. We carefully select only 20 words per book, ensuring they are age-appropriate and meaningful for children's language development. We understand the challenges parents face in teaching Spanish to their kids, which is why our books are crafted to effortlessly integrate into their daily routines. We aim to make language learning enjoyable for both parents and children, transforming it into a fun-filled experience rather than a mundane chore. We strive to alleviate the challenges parents face and create an environment where language learning becomes an enjoyable journey for the whole family.

We believe that language learning is about more than just acquiring fluency; it's about fostering a love for the language, enjoying the learning process, and embracing one's cultural roots."

What inspired you to start your business?

My name is Diana Reels, the proud founder of Dos Worlds. Our mission is to empower multicultural families and celebrate diverse identities through educational bilingual books.

As a children's book author and stay-at-home mom, I faced the daunting task of not only managing my time effectively but also finding the right resources to support my vision. That's when I discovered the invaluable support of SCORE San Diego and found guidance in the expertise of Mentor Jesus Muguerza. They helped me identify the key priorities essential for the growth of my business.

My personal journey as a parent, combined with the desire to foster cultural pride in my biracial son and facilitate his Spanish learning journey, inspired me to establish this business.

What's special about your business?

What makes my business special is the understanding that teaching Spanish to our children goes beyond mere fluency. It's about encouraging them to actively practice the language, find joy in the learning process, and establish a connection with their cultural heritage. By prioritizing these aspects, my business aims to create a unique and enriching language learning experience for families, fostering both language skills and a deeper appreciation for their cultural backgrounds.

We also focus on simplicity and relevance by carefully selecting only 20 words per book. These words are specifically chosen to be age-appropriate and meaningful for children's language development.
